America in Bible Prophecy?
by Steve Wohlberg
Hours before George W. Bush beat John Kerry on November 2, 2004, an Associated Press article declared:
World Sees Huge Stake in U.S. Election – People outside the United States could only watch, wait and vent as Americans lined up to vote Tuesday in an election that provoked an extraordinary degree of emotional involvement beyond U.S. borders. Not just leaders and news media, but ordinary people were riveted by the contest between President Bush and John Kerry, convinced that a world roiled by the U.S.-led occupation of Iraq, the war on terrorism, and cultural and religious conflict had a huge stake in the outcome…At the heart of the matter is a belief that in an era of globalization, when American decisions affect hundreds of millions around the globe, the election is not a domestic U.S. issue…‘A day that will decide the fate of the world,’ read a banner headline in Britain’s Independent…‘Why shouldn’t the Italians vote for the elections, too?’ said screenwriter Michele Cogo in Rome. ‘The planet’s destiny is decided in large part by America.’ (1)
“A day that will decide the fate of the world” “The planet’s destiny is decided in large part by America”–these aren’t minor sentences. What happens in Washington DC affects the globe. In this light we inquire: Is America mentioned in Bible prophecy, or has God’s Word overlooked the world’s only superpower?
Many prophecy writers emphatically state we’re not there. They see the US fading into oblivion under a supposedly future New World Order dominated by the United Nations. In this article I want to give you something different to think about. I want to suggest the possibility that America is the exact power specifically mentioned in this mysterious verse:
Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon (Revelation 13:11).
Allow me to build my case. First, what is a “beast”? Answer: A great nation. The proof’s in Daniel 7–a chapter that clearly parallels Revelation 13. Both chapters talk about beasts, ten horns, a mouth speaking great things, and war on the saints (see Daniel 7:3-8,21 and Revelation 13:1-7).
Daniel 7 describes four beasts: the lion, bear, leopard and dragon-like beast. An angelic interpreter confirmed:
The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom on earth (Daniel 7:23).
Back to Revelation 13:11:
I saw another beast coming out of the earth.
Thus John saw a great nation rising. From where? “Out of the earth.” Daniel’s beasts all rose from the sea (see Daniel 7:3-7). Water in prophecy represents multitudes of people. Another angel confirmed:
The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues (Revelation 17:15).
Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome all rose from the midst of a sea of peoples in Europe and the Middle East. Not so with the beast in Revelation 13:11–it comes from the earth. This points to a great nation rising out of a sparsely inhabited area.
I saw another beast coming out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb (Revelation 13:11).
Thus we have a new nation, with Christian features, rising out of a sparsely inhabited area, with a government without kingly power.

The true Lamb is Jesus Christ. “Like a lamb,” indicates this nation would have lamb-like or Christian features. A lamb is a young animal, a baby sheep. Thus this nation would at one time be youthful and new. Significantly, its “two horns” have no crowns like the first beast in Revelation 13:2. Crowns represent kingly power. Thus we have a new nation, with Christian features, rising out of a sparsely inhabited area, with a government without kingly power. Are the pieces coming together yet?
Here’s the shocker: Revelation 13 also reveals that this exact nation will finally achieve superpower status during the last moments of time, make a major mistake, and lead out in the global enforcement of the mark of the beast. God’s Word reports:
And he [the lamb-like beast] causes [he resorts to force] all [his power becomes global], both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their forehead, that no man might buy or sell [the world’s economy is involved] except the one who has the mark (Revelation 13:16,17).
These verses parallel the last part of Revelation 13:11 describing the final, tragic act of the lamb-like beast–“he spoke like a dragon.” Let’s put all the pieces together:
Revelation 13:11 predicts the rising of a great beast.
In prophecy, a beast represents a great nation.
This nation comes out of the earth, or wilderness area.
This nation starts out young, like a baby lamb.
This nation is lamb-like, with Christian characteristics.
This nation has horns with no crowns–it has no kings.
This nation achieves superpower status near the end of time.
This nation influences the world’s economy.
This nation finally speaks like a dragon.
This nation finally enforces the mark of the first beast in Revelation 13:2.
God has blessed America. Yet prophecy predicts major changes will someday envelop our beloved country and our eyes should be wide open to even now discern the proverbial writing on the wall. May the Lord prepare us for future events. Above all, may we each have a strong relationship with the true Lamb, Jesus Christ, and reject the dragon’s voice.
Things are 8 years beyond this teaching and the New world of todays is even closer to this clear teaching above….think about that for a moment! Thus we have a new nation, with Christian features, rising out of a sparsely inhabited area, with a government without kingly power.

The Separation of Church and State
A new, humanistic America where our children will be protected from outmoded Christian ideas and will enjoy freedom “from” religion
Our privacy has been invaded by big government – big business tracking and databasing of our medical records, employment records, education records, driving records, financial records….etc. Now they want to monitor our religion.

Despite media smear campaigns against them, Middle American parents are waging a valiant political battle against left-wing elites and their bizarre ideological indoctrination programs in the public schools.

American politics is not any longer about Democrats, Republicans, or Independents … It’s not a fight between the Liberal Left and the Christian Right … It is all about what America is.

Signs of the Last Days
Are we now living in the ‘Last Days’? What are the signs?
Revival or Apostasy
What will the Lord find when He returns?
Current Signs of the End of The World [Age]
We are living in the time of the end. The fast-fulfilling signs of the times declare that the coming of Christ is near at hand. The days in which we live are solemn and important. The Spirit of God is gradually but surely being withdrawn from the earth. Plagues and judgments are already falling upon the despisers of the grace of God. The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war, are portentous. They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones.
Prophecies for the Wise Only (see Daniel 12:10)
“The trades unions will be one of the agencies that will bring upon this earth a time of trouble such as has not been since the world began.”–Letter 200, 1903. Unions likely to increase in size and power soon (11-4-2008)
End of the World

Political leaders and legislators, men and women who hold positions of trust and authority, thinking men and women of all classes, have their attention focused upon the events taking place around us. People are watching the strained, restless relations that exist between countries. Thousands observe the intensity that is taking possession of every earthly element, and they realize that something great and decisive is about to happen–it appears that the world is on the verge of its most tremendous crisis.
Even with all the signs that are taking place, there are many people who scoff at the idea that this world will come to and end. There is even popular song, “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)”, by REM, that mocks at the idea of the end of the world and being prepared for it.
The Bible gives us the truth about what is really happening, it says that Angels are even now restraining the winds of strife, that they may not blow until the world shall be warned of its coming doom. But there is a storm is gathering, ready to burst upon the earth; and when God shall tell His angels loose the winds, there will be a scene of strife that no pen can picture.
The Bible, and the Bible only, gives us the correct view of these things. In it are revealed the great and final scenes of the history of our world. The events taking place today are a precursor to the final events which even by their approach cause the earth to tremble and men’s hearts to fail them for fear.
“Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. . . . They have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
End of the World Prophecy #1
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. ” Matthew 24:14
End of the World Prophecy #2
“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: ” Revelation 14:6-10
The gospel message that is to go through out the world at the very close of earth’s history contains the strongest warnings ever given to man. These warning messages are being given around the world today, they can be found in Revelation 14:6-10. You can learn more about these warnings here: http://www.BibleUniverse.com.
End of the World Prophecy #3
This prophecy refers to the fact that at the time of the end many people will understand the prophecies in the books of Daniel and Revelation. Today many people do have a greater understanding of these prophetic books especially since most of the prophecies have already been fulfilled. End of the World Bible Prophecy #4
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4
Even though the end of the world signs are being fulfilled on every hand multitudes of people scoff at the Bible and the idea that the end of the world as we know it is just about here.
End of the World Signs #5
“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:25-26
Signs have been occuring one after the other, people are truly afraid, and the governments and politicians are at a loss for what to do about all of the problems. Yet at the same time multitudes are saying that everything has gone on as it always has. But this is not true, even the director of FEMA, James Lee Witt, has said that weather related disasters have been increasing.
End of the World Bible Prophecy #6
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5
Wickedness abounds, even in the largest ‘professedly’ Christian churches.
End of the World Bible Prophecy #7 – History & Prophecy
“Thus saith the Lord God; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: . . . exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until He come whose right it is; and I will give it Him.” Ezekiel 21:26, 27.
The final overthrow of all earthly dominions is plainly foretold in the word of truth. In the above prophecy the sentence from God was pronounced upon the last king of Israel.
The crown was removed from Israel and passed successively to the kingdoms of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. God says, “It shall be no more, until He come whose right it is; and I will give it Him.” Learn who will be the next world leader.
End of the World Bible Predictions #8-18
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
All these are the beginning of sorrows.
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)” Matthew 24:3-15
Last Days Prophecy #19
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” 2 Peter 3:3-7
The Bible predicted that even though God has left us abundance evidence of the world wide flood during Noah’s day, people would be “willingly ingnorant” of that it happened. They are also ignorant of the fact that God’s great love for us has caused Him to grant us a little more time to repent of our sins before He destroys sinners off of the earth the second time.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
[Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness, 2 Peter 3:9-10

O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field. The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.” Joel 1:18-20
