21 Truths About The Election of God: Part 2

Here is Truth number 2, a very important thought to consider about God’s Election of man to salvation. It is that God’s purpose for his creation preceded the work of his creation, that in his foreknowledge God knew every movement of the history of every atomic particle through out time and its relationship to your life and the lives of every man, woman, and child. God knew what you would decide to do in his plan before creation was born into existence. With that knowledge in mind let us realize that Satan and ALL of Hell itself CANNOT change a single thing ABOUT your Salvation…ever! No lie from him can alter your peace of mind unless YOU decide otherwise but the change is ONLY COSMETIC in nature not FACTUAL!

Acts 1:18 Plainly states..”Known to God are ALL HIS WORKS from the beginning of the world.”

Who are we to question the God that formed the smallest sub-atomic particle in the palm of his hand, that knew I would one day accept his grace and be saved? We presume to know more than the creator because of the pride we have in our small-minded accomplishments, never taking into consideration just how far from perfect we are! You see, God started perfection and Sin spoiled that perfection; twisting into the exact opposite of its intent in our lives. It is our IMPERFECTION that blinds us to our own ignorance and thus deceives us into believing the opposite of what will bring true peace.

We as human beings stand here judging God’s FINISHED WORKS with our imperfect little minds and actions BUT fail to judge our works the same as those of God….Why is that? Are we just afraid to face our failure as imperfect beings? Is it so hard for us to believe that someone else holds the keys to our success? Are we so filled with pride as to believe that we in our many imperfections could ever make a perfect thought about  our eternal destiny?

Just what is God’s purpose anyway? We define Purpose as “the intent behind an action being done, an object existing or being made or used for something.” God’s purpose then, was synonymous with the goal or the “intended result” of his actions in creation. Nothing that God did in creation ever conflicted with anything else in creation, there was perfect balance until SIN entered at the core of creation and ruined perfection. Each creative act of God accomplished  his intent of heart and it was ‘good”. Now because of “Sin’s mess” God must do an “end-around” the mess using the problem to the advantage of the person. God is perfect wisdom and knows the end from the beginning even though in our pride we think it could be done better…why? Because of demonic knowledge being inserted into our minds, which in some cases has validity not because Satan knows more than God but because HE KNOWS MORE THAN WE DO!

Purpose is a “designed fail-safe” in every particle in the universe that even “sin” cannot change, it may delay the obvious but purpose will prevail no matter what. The cause of the universe is God. And as he is outside of the physical creation he made and as Time itself is not eternal, but a created element, God can work unrestricted. Satan on the other hand is bound within the concept of Time and must act within its limitations. In eternity there is NO CLOCK to track us down. God operates on an eternal framework NOT on a Limited Time framework, that’s why his timing seems off from ours. When God WILLS something done he wills it from eternity where there is no beginning nor end, therefore what he wills HAS ALWAYS BEEN from his perspective of timelessness! When Satan “Wills” something done on the other hand it is bound to the timing of God not Satan, and thus ruled over by God and his church. We through the power of God can change the will of Satan in the lives of men and thus bring into perfection that which was imperfect, but is never as easy as it sounds in this sentence. After-all we are dealing with a being who after God is the most wise and knowledgable creäture in existence though imperfect in that knowledge because of his fall from heaven. Even in heaven before Satan’s fall, God was ALL-KNOWING as he still is! Satan is NO match for God’s knowledge nor his purpose for that matter, but Satan being a master at deception giving him the ability to manipulate his limited knowledge to seem more than he is and that is enough to deceive man.

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” (Revelation 4:11).

Since God’s WILL is Eternal in nature it would be wrong for us to think of anything in the word of God as grounded to this limited existence or its impure science, if it states it in the word of God (which is his written WILL) THEN ALL THAT IS WRITTEN HAS BEEN FULFILLED ALREADY in Gods perspective. It would be totally correct to think of what God states in the Word of God as “SENT PRE-FULFILLED”  as written down 1,000’s of years ago, because when God says something IT IS ACCOMPLISHED AS IT LEAVES HIS LIPS! As the bible says in Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is (NOT JUST CONTAINS) THE EVIDENCE of things NOT NOW SEEN.” The Bible has WORDS that are the containers of FAITH (OR EVIDENCE to our world of God.) God’s promises come to us CONTAINING THE FULFILLMENT OF WHAT IS ASKED FOR within them, it is not “TIME” that’s required to believe BUT “GOD’S TIMING”, for if God sent the answer he knows the moment his purpose must be released to be effective within his creation. God made a plan for all of Eternity that was perfect in every detail….Satan plans his plans to interfere with God’s perfections BUT what even Satan cannot understand that God’s purposes once proclaimed from his essence cannot ever be reverted from. Satan is self-deceived, believing that HE not God can alter creation to his reputation and likeness. This blindness has passed to all men through sin and is not repairable except through repentance. True repentance places us in the position to be realigned with God’s original purpose which is totally in opposition to Satan’s plan for us and puts us on his “Hit list” to attack harder than others who follow his plan! This is why Bad things happen to “Repented” Good people who follow the original creative plan of God.

It is NOT in our power to know ALL there is to know of God’s perfect plans for us but it is in our power to know they are “perfect for us” in this time even as more of his plan is revealed in the next moment of time. It is required of us not to know the “end of plan” but to follow the plan to that end with much patience of soul. We as his body can find comfort in the working out of our lives as ALREADY accomplished before the foundations of creation by God but the man who knows not God’s working in his life finds this appalling to him, that someone else has control over his destiny. It is the NOT knowing that godless men take comfort in, because in not knowing is no guilt and in no guilt is false peace. But for the true believer peace is found in the knowing that God is in control. What makes the difference? Surrender of self-will to God’s will, takes the Christian from “no knowledge of true peace” to an in-depth peace of  soul that is layered every day with new revelations of God’s plan for him or her!

This is from a Lame web-site called http://godisimaginary.com/i6.htm and as can be plainly seen they get this stupid idea from “so-called believers” who have NO grounding in reality whatsoever and use this line of reason to say God’s plan is evil with this reasoning attached: “God’s plan” is the way that Christians traditionally explain things like amputations, cancer, hurricanes and car accidents. For example, if a Christian dies a painful and tragic death because of cancer, she dies as part of God’s plan. Her death has a purpose. God called her home for a reason. Even if something bad happens to a Christian, it is actually good because it is part of God’s plan.” and thus the result is this dumb statement:”If the concept of “God’s plan” is true, you can first of all see that God wants us to be aborting children. Every single abortion is planned by God, so God must be doing it for a reason.”

This line of reasoning has possessed the ungodly mind to discredit God when in fact it reveals just how far from perfect we are. This IN NO WAY is the truth, God’s plan has never been more misrepresented than in this way. They are assuming that all evil is a part of his plan when the bible is clear that evil is the by-product of man’s own desire coming in conflict with God’s purpose for good. That does not mean that God will not use man’s screw-up to get us back to his original perfect plan without the screw-up. Man not God is the creator of evil desire, and God does not DO EVIL , HE USES THE INTENT OF EVIL FOR A GOOD END that would not have happened without His intervention! The intent of Abortion is to do murder to the unborn but God’s intent is to turn this around for good..but how? First of all Abortion is not a single victim sin, it hurts all connected to it including the doctor performing the deed. So it is God’s purpose to save all involved after the fact, but he was not planning the death of the child to do it that is on man’s conscience. God can save by many and by few, from sin or through sin, that choice is ours. Does a doctor make men sick by intention only that he might heal them later? If men do not do this and we are made in God’s image, then God cannot be said to do this either by the same rules of logic!

No so-called Proof on the above site is unexplainable with simple spiritual logic. The problem is not what they say but with the direction of their question, it is always presupposed that God is imaginary, that he does not exist and in this state of mind no evidence is good enough to convince the mind otherwise. Even if God himself stood before an Atheist proving his power, the Atheist would never believe and blame the “God who isn’t there” for the whole mess he’s in. This is the mixed up state of the mind in the darkness of deception, because to believe in anything the Atheist says begs the question of God’s existence. If what the Atheist says of God is true then he MUST EXIST albeit in an evil twisted state but if God is NOT THERE then every word they use to insult him is pointless drivel ment to make them feel better in their denial!

Remember, the plan of God is not the same plan that Satan has for our lives and the two will always conflict with each other. The Atheist denies Satan’s existence so they cannot grasp the idea of a second plan in conflict with God’s plan, and the Church stepped in much conflict of its own in its belief of both so how can the unbeliever ever know the difference if we don’t? The world looks to false religion to see a God that’s repelled by religion’s hypocrisy and hates mans evil mental attempts to understand him that come short of his greatness. God can ONLY be understood through spiritual purity of heart, a repentant heart free from the sin of blindness. False human Religion is anything but pure, it is the blind leading the blind over a cliff. If anyone looks for God within this realm they find a mixed-up version of who God is, filtered through man’s ideas of what God should be like mixed with what the bible says he is like. Religion of men is “Conflict in motion” churning out daily more and more confusion and misdirection at every turn. ALL man made faith of any kind is guilty of this, it cannot be helped for true faith is born out of the true God and cannot be birthed out of “good intents”. This is the worlds play ground not God’s so we cannot find him there, mixed with mortal ideas. We insult the purpose of God by trying to understand him in mortal terms when he is bigger than the universe itself.

THE TWO TREES in the garden THEIR BLESSING & CURSING

tree-of-life-s

Two Trees

Why we can’t solve our problems?

Eden means delightful, restful or idylillic. In this garden are two trees one is the “Tree of Life”, the other is the “Tree of Knowledge of good and evil”. Genesis 2:9 “And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” Genesis 2:16-17 “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

For man to make this choice, man had to have the ability to think andTheTreeofKnowledge-Website have free choice BUT THIS “FREE CHOICE” WAS ONLY TRULY FREE BEFORE THE FALL,AFTER THE FALL THERE WAS NO MORE “FREE” ONLY A CHOICE BECAUSE NOW CHOICES WERE DECIDED BETWEEN TWO SPIRITUAL FORCES: GOOD & EVIL. This is why God did not want man to “freely choose”sin because that was his last “FREE CHOICE” ALL CHOICES AFTER THAT ONE HAVE BEEN “ENSLAVED CHOICES” BOUND TO FLESHLY DESIRES & IMPURE THOUGHTS! It is the “TEMPTATION TO DO AS WE FEEL”THAT RULES US NOT THE “FREEDOM OF GOD’S RULE” WHICH ADAM & EVE HAD BEFORE THE FALL. Turn to Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, [and] that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he [is] thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.” Receive “full abundant and rewarding LIFE”.

We live with choices we make, just look at Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” In Genesis 3:1-5 Satan enters the scene, turn if you will and read: “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

reliogionThe most “subtle” aspect of Satan’s argument eating the “fruit” would make one wise. Satan offered another way to gain knowledge. He knew this would cutoff man from God,(Just as his LAST “FREE CHOICE” CUT HIM OFF FROM FELLOWSHIP FROM HIS GOD.) he knew the end result would be no happiness and wisdom but “shame”. Turn to Genesis 3:7 “And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons( WORKS TO COVER FOR BAD CHOICES). 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou [wast] naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat ? And the LORD God said unto the woman, What [is] this [that] thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat ,and So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” God revealed truth with The Tree of Life,THIS TREE embodied God’s Way. Instruction given – gift of eternal life; with this there will be peace, love, no sin, no death, no pain.WHAT GOD INTENDED TO HAPPEN WAS FOR ADAM & EVE TO EAT OF ETERNAL LIFE AND NEVER TOUCH THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD & EVIL FOR IN DOING THIS MAN & WOMAN WOULD HAVE LIVED FOREVER IN A PERFECT STATE OF PURE KNOWLEDGE OF THE THINGS OF GOD JUST AS GOD ENJOYS BEING HIS SONS & DAUGHTERS! This is the state that the New Heavens and Earth will be in,in the future state after the renovation of all things.YOU SEE GOD WANTED US TO KNOW GOOD FROM EVIL BUT NOT THE WAY IN WHICH ADAM CHOOSE IT,GOD WANTED US TO KNOW ABOUT IT FROM A “REVELATION” STANDPOINT NOT FROM AN EXPERIMENTAL EXPERIENCE! WE DO NOT NEED TO BECOME A PIG TO KNOW WHAT A PIG IS!

pd-tree-of-life-28x38-copper-365In Jude 1:7 it says “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over (BAD CHOICES LEAD) to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”THE Way of Cain IS greed, oppression, exploitation, rejection of God and His teachings, BUT the end result is eternal separation from “FREEDOM OF REAL CHOICE! before the fall IT was painless WITH NO difficulty,BUT THE Outcome of generations of “bad” decisions and deception trigger MORE BAD CHOICES TO BE MADE,THE LONGER WE LANGUISH IN SIN THE DEEPER WE SINK IN OUR BAD “CHOICES”.

Jesus prophesied His coming would be “as the Day of Noah”. Matthewm_b3994024fb5f8116a4f2bc864dc0e028 24:37-39 “But as the days of Noah [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Proverbs 16:25 “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.” There is a better way- God’s Way, Christ is that “Way”. Look up Revelation 22:14 “Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:1-2 “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations.” Christ will “restore”, H is our “free access” for all mankind.

Revelation 5:10 “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”

Isaiah 11:9 “They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”

Other scripture to study on this are listed:

Acts 2:38, Proverbs 3:8, 11:30, 13:12, Revelation 2:7, Matthew 3:10, 17-19, Romans 8:11, Ezekiel 152, Proverbs 154

Jesus hung on a tree REPRESENTING THE “KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD & EVIL” OUR BAD CHOICES so HE COULD reclaim OUR LIVES,HIS BLOOD PURIFIED THAT TREES FRUIT AND RECLAIMED IT AS THE “Tree of Life” AND GAVE it back to us as a NEW CHOICE through His death. For us to partake of. Galatians 3:13 “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree” It was the “knowledge of good & evil” that got us into trouble, NOW GOD HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM IN HIS DEATH FOR BY STEPPING INTO HIS DEATH WE INHERIT HIS RESURRECTION LIFE INTO OUR FRAIL BODIES AND BEGIN THE PROCESS OF MENTAL RECONSTRUCTION (MIND RENEWAL).

Please note that the Bible says "Tree" NOT Crossbeams!

More than thirty different kinds of trees are named in the Bible: In addition to the majestic Cedars of Lebanon extolled in the Old Testament as building material for Solomon’s Temple, there are also the Olive Tree and Fig Tree emphasized in the New Testament.

Now it’s the Saints, the born-again believers (‘trees of righteousness’) who are building the spiritual temple!

Had Adam eaten of the Tree of Life, he would have lived forever (Gen. 3:22-24). It symbolized the Lord Jesus Christ who is our life, from whom we have eternal life. Christ is to all who believe a Tree of Life planted in the midst of the paradise of God (Prov. 3:18; Rev. 2:7; 22:102). To trust the Lord Jesus Christ, to live by faith upon the merits of his blood atonement and his perfect righteousness, is to eat of the Tree of Life. The fruit of this Tree, the results of Christ’s obedience to God as the sinner’s Substitute, is eternal life. All who eat of the fruit of this Tree shall live forever.

However, the Lord also placed another tree in the midst of the garden. It was “The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.” The moment that Adam ate of the fruit of that tree, he died. He died spiritually, and was condemned to die eternally, and began to die physically. These things are recorded in the Book of God by the Holy Spirit for our learning and for our edification. There are several important, spiritual lessons to be learned by contrasting and comparing “The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil” to the cursed tree upon which the Son of God was crucified. Read Acts 5:30 and 1 Peter 2:24.

SOME POINTS OF CONTRAST.

There are six obvious points of contrast between The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is as much to be learned from the disparity between the type and its fulfillment as there is from the comparison of the type and the anti-type.

1. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was planted by God (Gen. 2:9); but the tree upon which Christ was crucified was made and set in its place by man (Matt. 27:33-35).

It is true – Christ was delivered to death by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God (Acts 2:23). God almighty fixed the time of his death, the means of his death, the place of his death, the object of his death, and the results of his death. But human hands devised and erected the cruel tree on Golgotha’s hill, stretched out the Lord of glory upon it, and crucified him. It is written, “And they crucified him!” The death of Christ was by the will, decree, purpose, and hand of God the Father; but the guilt of it lies entirely upon us. It was by the will, the hands, and the work of men that the incarnate God was nailed to the cursed tree.

2. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was pleasant to the eyes (Gen. 3:6); but everything connected with the tree of the crucifixion was hideous, repugnant, and ignominious.

Though it would be idolatrous to do so, were it possible for an artist to capture the scene of our Lord’s crucifixion on canvas, no one would want the picture hanging in his home. The scene was horrible Our suffering Savior looked more like a violently slaughtered beast than a man (Isa. 52:14; Psa. 22:11-22). Drunks and priests, thieves and scribes, harlots and Pharisees, Roman soldiers and Jewish rabbis joined in a hellish party, taunting, and jeering, and laughing as they slaughtered the incarnate God. For three hours, darkness covered the face of the earth. The Son of God, when he was made to be sin for us, he was forsaken by his Father. Quivering in pain, burning with fever, covered with blood, with the reproach of being made sin for us breaking his heart, the Son of God died upon the cursed tree, being made a curse for us. Thus he redeemed his elect from the curse of the law.

3. God forbade man to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (Gen. 2:17); but every man is freely bidden, and even commanded, to eat of the fruit of that tree upon which the Savior died WHY? Because his blood was the pure blood of God which ETERNALLY PURIFIED THE VESSELS OF GOD.

True Christians CANNOT Worship the Cross It's ONLY a symbol!
True Christians CANNOT Worship the Cross It's ONLY a symbol!

Do not mistake my meaning….. There is no value, or merit, in that wooden cross upon which Christ died. We do not value the physical cross or Tree, at all. If I knew I had it in my possession, I would burn it and scatter the ashes to the wind for it would be nothing more than an IDOL. But there is infinite merit in the sacrifice him who died upon the cross. The fruits of our Savior’s death upon the tree are priceless. God himself calls sinners to eat of the fruit of this tree. He tells us, “All things are ready, Come.” “O taste and see that the Lord is good.” The leaves of this tree are for the healing of the nations, the healing of God’s elect scattered throughout all the nations of the world. It will be alright to use your imagination a little. Can you see the leaves on the tree? I see in the cross, in the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ all that is needed for the healing of our souls from all the consequences of sin. In the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, we find atonement made, justice satisfied, righteousness brought in, forgiveness obtained, and eternal life secured for chosen sinners.

4. Satan used every cunning device to get man to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (Gen. 3:1-6); but he uses every cunning device imaginable to keep sinners from eating of the fruits of Christ’s death upon the tree of crucifixion.THROUGH VAIN DECEIT AND FALSE WORSHIP OF IDOL GODS,BY DENYING THE VERY DEATH OF CHRIST UPON THE CROSS ITSELF (ISLAM) AND BY MAKING CHRIST A MERE MORTAL WITH NO SAVING POWER AT ALL,BUT REALIZE THAT NO MAN CAN CHANGE WHAT GOD HAS DONE BY “DENIAL” HELL WILL HOTTER FOR THOSE WHO DENY WHAT THEY PLAINLY SEE!

The liar from hell deceives sinners, who are all willing to be deceived, by flattering their flesh. He persuades men and women universally that they do not need a substitute, that they are really good enough to meet with God’s approval, that God would not really send them to hell.(OH! BUT HE WILL) With cunning craftiness, he makes men and women think they are smart, too smart to believe God, so smart that they imagine all of what God says to be superstition and hypocrisy, because they are superstitious hypocrites themselves-RELIGION IS ALL THESE THINGS AND MORE BUT WE WOULD RATHER BELIEVE IT THAN GOD’S WORD!

5. The eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil brought death to Adam and Eve (Gen. 2:17); but life comes to all who eat the flesh and drink the blood of him who died upon the cursed tree (John 6:53-56). Now don’t get your “FLESH UP” THIS IS NOT CANNIBALISM, BUT IT IS LITERAL SPIRITUAL TRUTH!

Christ’s flesh, his obedience to God in the body of human flesh, is righteousness. His blood, the pouring out of his life’s blood unto death, is atonement (AT-ONE-MENT ). To eat his flesh and drink his blood is to receive him by faith, thus receiving his righteousness and his atonement.

6. Adam, as a thief ( BECAUSE HE STOLE THIS KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT EARNING THE RIGHT TO IT BY GOING THOUGH GOD’S WILL OF ETERNAL LIFE), by eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, was cast out of Paradise (Gen. 3:24); but the penitent thief, by eating of the fruit of the tree of crucifixion, entered Paradise (Lk. 23:39-43).

The only time recorded in the Scriptures our Savior used the word “Paradise” during his earthly ministry was in his promise to the penitent thief. It was not accidental. Like the penitent thief, all believers are reconciled to God and shall be brought into eternal Paradise, by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. As he confessed his sin and just condemnation, so do we. As he acknowledged Christ as his Lord, so do we. As he trusted the mercy and grace of Christ the Lord, so do we. As he obtained the favor of the Lord by faith in him, so do we. As he is with Christ in Paradise, so we soon shall be.

SOME MARKS OF SIMILARITY.

I have shown you the points of contrast between the tree in the garden and the cross of Christ. Now, let me show you some of the marks of similarity between these two trees.

1. Both trees were planted in a garden (John 19:41). The first Adam died in a garden; and the last Adam died in a garden.

2. Both trees were planted in the midst of the garden (Gen. 2:9; John 19:18).

Our Lord Jesus Christ died as our Substitute in the midst of the world, and in the midst of two thieves, dividing the one from the other. So it is the TREE of Christ, his blood atonement, that divides all men. The blood of Christ alone is that which distinguishes God’s elect from the reprobate. And our Lord Jesus was crucified in the midst of time. His death was the crisis of the world. When the fullness of the Jews was finished, as the fullness of the Gentiles began, the Son of God died at Calvary to ransom the Israel of God. This day and forever, it is the cross of Christ, which is the Tree of Life planted in the midst of the heavenly paradise (Rev. 22:2), as the center and glory of all things.

3. Both trees were trees of the knowledge of good and evil.

There is only one place in all the world where sinners, such as we can learn the knowledge of good and evil. These things are learned by divine revelation at the cross. There, as we look to Christ in faith, we see the goodness of God and the holiness of God, the love of God and the wrath of God, the grace of God and the justice of God, the mercy of God and the truth of God. And it is only as we look to Christ in faith, trusting him as our crucified Savior, that we begin to see the evil of sin, the wickedness of man, and the utter depravity of our own hearts. It is looking on him whom we have pierced that melts our hearts to repentance (Zech. 12:10). And it is only in the light of Christ crucified that we discern good from evil in providence. For God’s elect all things are good. For the unbeliever, all things are evil (Pro. 12:21; Isa. 3:10-11).

4. Both trees are good for food (Gen. 3:6).

The cross of Christ – I mean the doctrine of the cross, the Gospel, is the very meat and marrow of the believer’s life. It is good for food for our souls! How pleasant it is to the eyes of faith! In the crucified Christ, in the doctrine of the cross, we see our sins blotted out. We see how that God is, indeed, both perfectly just and the Justifier of every believer. Truly, this is “a tree to be desired to make one wise!” The preaching of the cross is the power of God and the wisdom of God. It makes the believing sinner wise unto salvation.

The cross of Christ was to our dear Savior a cursed tree (Gal. 3:13), but to us a tree of blessing, a curse removed. As Abraham’s guest was urged to take water and refreshment and find rest “under the tree” (Gen. 18:4), so in the gospel weary sinners are bidden of God to take water and refreshment and find rest for their souls under the cross. As Abraham and his guest stood together “under the tree” (Gen. 18:8), so the triune God and believing sinners stand together in the cross of Christ. As the tree cast into Marah’s bitter waters made the waters sweet (Ex. 15:23-25), so the cross of Christ cast into our bitter lives makes them sweet. With the inspired apostle, every believer ought to make this firm resolve – “God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ!” BUT REMEMBER WITHOUT THE “EMPTY TOMB” THE CROSS WOULD MEAN NOTHING,THEREFORE THE EMPTY TOMB IS THE TRUE SYMBOL OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH FOR THE CROSSES WORK IS REALIZED IN THE EMPTY TOMB!

THE HEAVENLY CITY OF LIGHT coming down from the Heavens!

images6The Holy City

“That great city—the holy Jerusalem.”—Revelation 21:10.This city is not earthly, but heavenly, and is among the heavenly things said by the apostle to be purified by the ‘better sacrifices’ (Hebrews 4:23). Why did such a city need ‘purifying?’ Not because it was unclean, but because sinners were to dwell in it; and they would have defiled it, had it not been for the great sacrifice. For the blood does two things—it makes the unclean clean, and it keeps the clean from being defiled. Its use in the holy of holies was not to cleanse that place, but to prevent its being defiled by the entrance of the sinner. Our possession of this heavenly city, then, we owe to the blood of the Lamb; and hence He stands on Mount Zion, and sits on the throne, as the Lamb slain (Revelation 5:6, 14:1).

The earthly Jerusalem is to be cleansed from its impurity by the blood of the Lamb; and the heavenly Jerusalem is to be preserved from impurity by the same blood. The inhabitants of both will find that they owe all to this blood. It is the blood which opens the entrance—and it is the blood which secures the everlasting possession for sinners. This double efficacy of the blood we see also in the case of the elect angels. It is this that keeps them from falling, just as it is this that raises man out of his fall. Let us prize that blood which works such wonders. It is ‘precious blood.’ O man, do not trample on it!

But let us mediate on the city as described in these two chapters. It contains in it everything that is excellent and lovely, perfect and enduring.1. It is a great city. ‘That great city,’ said John, gazing on it. Its province is vast, beyond Babylon, or Nineveh, or Paris, or London. That ‘mighty city,’ says John, speaking of Babylon the Great (Revelation 18:10); but this is mightier far. There has been no city like it. It is the city, the one city—the great metropolis of the mighty universe—the mighty city of the mighty God.2. It is a well-built city. Its builder and maker is God. Its foundations are eternal; its walls are jasper; it gates pearls; its streets paved with gold. It is ‘compactly built together,’ a perfect cube, and complete in all its parts, without a break or flaw, or weakness or deformity.3. It is a well-lighted city. Something brighter than sun and moon is given to fill its heaven. The glory of God lights it; the Lamb is its ‘light’ or ‘lamp,’ so that it needs no candle, no sunlight. There is no night there.4. It is a well-watered city. A pure river of the water of life flows through its streets, proceeding from the throne of God and the Lamb. What must its waters be! What must be the rivers of pleasure there! Who in it can ever thirst? Its inhabitants shall thirst no more.5. It is a well-provisioned city. The tree of life is there, with its twelve variety of fruits and its health-giving leaves. It has more than Eden had. It is paradise restored; Paradise and Jerusalem in one; Jerusalem in Paradise, and Paradise in Jerusalem.6. It is a well-guarded city. Not only has it gates, and walls, and towers, which no enemy could scale or force; but at the gates are twelve angels, keeping perpetual watch.7. It is a well-governed city. Its king is the Son of God, the King of kings, Immanuel, the King eternal, whose scepter is righteousness who loves righteousness and hates iniquity. No misrule is there, no disorder, no lawlessness, no rebellion.8. It is a well-peopled city. It has gathered within its walls all generations of the redeemed. Its population is as the sands or the stars; the multitude that no man can number; the millions of the risen and glorified.9. It is a holy city. Its origin is heavenly, and it is perfect as its builder. Nothing that defiles shall enter; no spot or speck or shadow of evil. All is perfection there, divine perfection.10. It is a glorious city. The glory that fills it, and encircles it, is the glory of God. All precious stones are there; no marble nor granite such as we boast of now—all of it is gold, and pearls, and gems. Everything resplendent is there. It shines like the sun.11. It is a blessed city. It is truly ‘the joyous city.’ It is the throne of the blessed One, and all in it is like Him. Its name is Jerusalem—the city of peace. Its King’s name is Solomon—the Prince of peace. There is no enemy there; no sickness, no curse, no death, no weeping, no pain, no sorrow, no change forever. Those who dwell in it shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more (ch. 7:16, 17).

Blessed city! City of peace, and love, and song! Fit accompaniment of the new heavens! Fit metropolis of the new earth, wherein dwells righteousness! How eagerly should we look for it! How worthy of it should we live! It has not yet arrived. Eye has not seen it. But God points to it above, and assures us that it shall come. The right of citizenship is to be had now; and those who are to dwell in it are not angels, but men; not the unfallen, but the fallen. It is as such that we apply for the ‘freedom of the city.’ He who is its Builder and Maker gives it freely. He who is its Prince, whose blood has bought and opened it, gives it freely. He waits to receive applications—no, He entreats men to apply. He announces that whoever will only take Him at His word, and trust Him for entrance into it, shall have it. He specially proclaims to us His own sacrifice, His infinite propitiation, His divine blood-shedding on the cross, and gives us to know that whoever will receive the testimony to this great work of atonement shall enter in through the gates into the city. It is the blood that brings us to the mercy seat—it is the blood that brings us into the city. It will be a joy to enter that joyous city. By this joy we beseech you now to make sure of your citizenship, by making sure of your connection with the King. He who has the King—has the city.

It will be a sorrow to be shut out. By that sorrow we entreat you to make sure. Believing the good news, become citizens of this great and holy city. Then all shall be well with you forever! The New Jerusalem

Map of The New JerusalemZechariah 14 describes the map of the area. The land will be changed.

  1. Mount of Olives (Verse 4). This mountain will split and form a mountain range in the north and south.
  2. Valley (Verse 5, 10). The city will be located on the plains of a valley between these mountains.
  3. Hill (Verse 10). Jerusalem will be on a hill on this plain.
  4. River (Verse 8). A river of living water flows east and west from Jerusalem into a sea in the east and a sea in the west. This is the same river of life that flows from the throne of God. (Revelation 22: 1)
  5. Sun, Moon and Stars (Verse 7). Outer space will change also. Their light will be dimmer than the light coming from the new earth. (Revelation 21: 23)
  6. New Jerusalem. The city comes from heaven, through space, and lands on the Mount of Olives. (Revelation 21: 2, 10)
Green Square. 375 mile border. Blue Square. 1500 mile border. New Jerusalem map The New JerusalemMount of Olives. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall split in the middle of it toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And you shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal: yes, you shall flee, like as you fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with you. (Zechariah 14: 4-5)Size. The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as its width; and he measured the city with the rod; fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal. (Revelation 21: 16)

Since the language is ambiguous, the length of each side of the city could be either 375 miles or 1500 miles.

375 Miles (604 kilometers).

The New Jerusalem is 375 miles long and 375 miles wide. It extends from the bottom of the Sinai peninsula to the middle of Syria. And from Cairo to the western border of Iraq. This essentially enclosed the actual area of the Promised Land.

It is also 375 miles high. This extends over 200 miles higher than where the space shuttle flies.

Putting this in perspective, clouds can extend up to 11 miles, the space shuttle orbits at about 150 miles and the space station orbits at about 220 miles.

Our tallest buildings are about a quarter of a mile high.

1500 Miles (2414 kilometers).

If the city is 1500 miles in all three direction, then it extends from the western border of Egypt to eastern Iraq. And from the top of the Black sea to the southern border of Saudi Arabia.

Notice that at this size these facts become very important.

  1. Garden of Eden. The center of the eastern wall, the center gate is located exactly in the place where the Garden of Eden is believed to exist.
  2. The Gate of God. “Babel” means the gate of God. Notice that it was built near the Garden of Eden.
  3. Magog. The Land of Magog is just outside the city. According to Revelation 21, when the New Jerusalem is surrounded, they will come from Gog and Magog.
  4. Egypt and Assyria. They are a part of this enclosed structure. This fulfills the following prophecy. In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing In the midst of the land: Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.” (Isaiah 19: 24-25)
  • Egypt “My People”. Two tribes, the children of Joseph were half Egyptian.
  • Assyria “The Work of My Hands”. Abraham was a Syrian from Babylon.
  • Israel “My inheritance”. This is the nation God created through a covenant.
The Garden of Eden “And the Lord God planted a garden towards the east in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed”“And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it was parted, and became four rivers. The name of the first is Pishon: it flows around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: if flows around the whole land of Cush. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel [Tigris]: it flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.”

(Genesis 2: 8, 10-14).So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the Cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

(Genesis 3: 24).

There are several theories about the location of the Garden of Eden.

  • Iraq. On land, near Ur where the Tigris and Euphrates join before flowing into the Persian Gulf.
  • Persian Gulf. Under the waters of the shores of the Persian Gulf near Iraq.
  • Turkey. Where the Tigris and Euphrates originate. Although it is a possible source, this is not located east of Israel or east of Babylon. So this is wrong.
  • United States. In the south east, along the Florida, Georgia and Alabama border. The United States was joined to Africa in Pangea, but it was not east of Israel. So this is wrong.

Problems in the Garden

The Gihon and the Pishon no longer exist. But the location of the Gihon river has been a problem for all theories, because it does not flow through Cush. In fact, it flows north from the head of all four rivers.

There are two possible explanations:

  1. Nimrod, the Son of Cush. The Gihon flowed through the land of Nimrod. He lived in that area and built the tower of Babel. So, technically, that area is also the land of Cush.
  2. A Circluar River The Gihon could have made a circle around the Arabian coast and joined with the Nile. In fact, there are reports of an Egyptian legend that the Nile was circular. Babylonians mentioned a great river named the “Bitter River” which encircled the earth. Josephus wrote that the River of Eden encircled the earth and was the source of four great rivers Heaven
  • A Name. The Holy city gets a name that reflects its character.

    • Jerusalem (“The City of Peace”). It has a gate that never closes because there is no

    • fear. YHWH Shammah (“The Lord is There”). Since the New Jerusalem becomes

    • the new throne of God. “The circumference of the city shall be eighteen thousand

    • cubits. And the name of the city from that time on shall be, The Lord is There.”

    • (Ezekiel 48: 35) YHWH Tsidkenu (“The LORD is our Righteousness”). (Jeremiah

    • 33: 16) Hephzibah (“My delight is in her”). God is as happy over us as a

    • bridegroom is for his bride. Beulah (“Married”). Christ comes to marry us and the

    • land and we get the rights of children and the bride. It will no longer be said to

    • you, “Forsaken (Azubah)”, Nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate

    • (Shemamah)”. But you will be called “My delight is in her (Hephzibah)” and your

    • land “Married (Beulah)”. For the Lord delights in you and to Him your land will

    • be married. (Isaiah 62: 4)

    • The Wicked Are Not There. This is referred to directly and symbolically.

      • And there was no more sea. This could refer to the restored Eden where there

      • was no large bodies of water. However, the wicked are symbolically described

      • as the sea in prophecy and this text could also be referring to this fact. And he

      • said to me, The waters which you saw, where the whore sits, are peoples, and

      • multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (Revelation 17: 15)

      • But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. (Isaiah 57: 20)

      • The Fearful, and Unbelieving (Verse 8). Those who are sinful, who do not

      • “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ”, will be fearful at the presence of God.

      • They

      • do not have the perfect love which puts aside all fear. Fear or cowardice is not

      • a sin, but it may lead to the silent acceptance of sin around you because you

      • value yourself more than others. The reference to the cowardly specifically

      • targets the people in the last days who need moral courage to stand up against

      • the beast at the risk of their life.

      • The Dogs. These are the same people outside the city who surround it and

      • attack God. They are defeated and destroyed. When they become ashes on the

      • earth, they literally become the footstool of God. Outside are the dogs and

      • sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and

      • everyone who loves and practices lying. (Revelation 22: 15) This is the same

      • list of losers in Revelation 21: 8. Even though people are now teaching that

      • the law has been abolished, we still find Heaven describing the righteous and

      • wicked in terms of their attitude towards the commandments. The law of God is eternal.

  • Can a Christian be Possesed?

    By Dale P. Kruse

    Can a Christian be possessed?

Yes! A Christian can be possessed because only a Christian can be delivered.

The deliverance ministry benefits only those who have made Jesus Savior and Lord. The unsaved cannot be delivered, or if they are they end up seven times worse afterwards since they do not have the power of the Holy Spirit to stay delivered.

Many come to saving faith in Jesus Christ possessed because of previous involvement in the occult, sexual sins, sins of inheritance or as a result of specific unrepented sins. Some Christians become possessed because later they get involved in these kind of sins. The Bible is plain in Galatians 6:7-8,

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life.”

While many people’s theology teaches a Christian cannot be possessed, nothing in the Bible teaches that a Christian cannot be possessed. Possession is the result of sin, but not just any sin, but sin that a person commits that is deliberate and ongoing and without the intent to repent. Ecclesiastes 10:8 states “He who digs a pit will fall into it; and whoever breaks a hedge, a serpent will bite him.” When we sin, that is a doorway first to oppression. When we sin we give Satan legal access to ourselves.

We only have authority over Satan when we are in submission to the Lord. James 4:7 states “Submit therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James wrote this to Christians, not non-believers. When we sin and do not immediately confess and repent of it, unclean spirits related attach themselves to us to keep us in bondage to that sin. That is why even though we confess and repent of our sins and God forgives us, afterwards we often times still feel attached to and prone to that sin. Paul expressed this frustration in Romans 7:18-19,

“For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the wishing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. For the good that I wish, I do not do; but I practice the very evil that I do not wish.”

We have to go further than just confessing and repenting of our sins, we have to ask the Lord to then also cleanse us from the sin and all unclean spirits related. If we do not, we will find ourselves repeating the sin with seemingly no power to say no. That is because it is now the demonic influences which are causing us to sin. So after we confess our sins we also need to in the name and the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth to bind the unclean spirits related and command them to leave.

Next, as described in this article, you need to also anoint your house and place of work. Next, pray for the covering of Jesus’ blood (Revelation 12:11), the surrounding and protection of His mighty warrior angels (Psalm 34:7); and the overshadowing power and protection of the Holy Spirit (2 Thess 3:3).

“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even to death.” (Revelation 12:11)

“The angel of Yehovah encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them.” (Psalm 37:7)

“But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.” (2 Thess 3:3)

This is how we deal with demonic oppression. It is never just simply an issue of confessing our known sins, that is the first step. We then do need to take authority over the unclean spirits related or we will find ourselves continuing in that sin whether we want to or not. Only after binding the unclean spirits and commanding them to leave will we then find release from the propensity to sin. We all have a disposition to certain kinds of sins.

It is these sins we usually have the greatest battle with once we have given into them. What I have described here is what Christians mostly battle with which is oppression of unclean spirits from the outside, not possession.

While most Christians are not possessed, they can become possessed and this comes about through repetitious unrepented sin; sin we do deliberately, wantonly without any intention of repenting. Eventually that then opens a hole in the wall of our protection and demons enter in.

This is why it is so important when we fall to temptation to immediately confess it and get on our knees and ask for the Lord to cleanse us of that sin and to seal that doorway in His blood. We then need to ask Him for Holy Spirit grace, strength and power to say no to this sin and temptation when it comes (Eph 6:10, 2 Thess 3:3).

This is why it is so important that we stay close to the Lord through reading the Word and prayer and daily seek His power to stay close to Him and away from those things which tempt us. Jesus said in Matthew 26:41 “Keep watching and praying, that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

The Bible tells us that Satan prowls about waiting for that opening in our protection.

1 Peter 5:8-10 “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.”

The solution is to stay clean of sin and to immediately confess and repent of your sin when committed and to stay close to the Lord by daily spending time with Him by reading His Word (1 Peter 1:22-23) and through prayer (Matt 26:41) and through avoiding temptation (Romans 13:14).

In the Article titled The Nature of the Flesh I explain how to avoid temptation and keep the flesh from sinning. We also need to daily put on the full armor of God to protect us from demonic attack and is why God has provided this armor listed in Ephesians 6:10-18.

It is a literal armor which covers and protects our human spirit. Only as we are submitted to the Lord and walk in obedience to Him do we have His protection and power and authority over Satan.
